Pest Control Policy Review
We aim to ensure Settle homes, communal areas and estates are kept safe, healthy and free of pests.

This Policy is aligned to our Landlord Resident Strategy and sets out our approach to managing reports of pests in our properties, outlining our landlord responsibilities and the service we offer to set clear expectations for residents and those occupying commercial lets.

The effective control of pests within our properties will ensure that, in the event of an outbreak, the responsibilities of Settle and the resident are clearly defined and that the appropriate advice is given and action undertaken.

Thank you for the feedback we received on our Pest Control Policy. We received 7 comments from 3 survey responses. All contributions are essential to improving this policy, and we're currently reviewing the suggestions.

- 83% of residents thought the language in the policy was clear
- 83% of residents thought the policy was easy to understand.
One core theme was raised by residents in response to our Pest Control Policy:
- Residents would like more clarity on which pest concerns fall under Settle's responsibility.
We're now reviewing all feedback and revising the policy based on your input. We will publish the updated version reflecting your thoughts soon.
We want to make sure this policy truly reflects residents' priorities.

Settle properties may be subject to an infestation of pests, including but not limited to, rats, mice, wasps, bedbugs, and cockroaches. Some other animals, such as foxes, bats and birds, may present a nuisance but are not considered pests, many are also protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, which may determine the course of action undertaken.
The effective control of pests within our properties will ensure that, in the event of an outbreak, the responsibilities of Settle and the resident are clearly defined and that the appropriate advice is given and action undertaken.
This policy sets out Settle’s responsibilities and expectations, in accordance with our service standards, the terms of tenancy agreements and relevant legislation.
