📢 Here's what we heard:
- 100% of residents thought the language in the policy was clear
- 100% of residents thought the policy was easy to understand.
One core theme was raised by residents in response to our Hate Crime Policy:
- Residents would appreciate a clearer explanation of what Settle means by hate crime.
We're now reviewing all feedback and revising the policy based on your input. We will publish the updated version reflecting your thoughts soon.
We want to make sure this policy truly reflects residents' priorities.
You can follow this project at the bottom of this page to stay informed.
We've developed a standalone policy that demonstrates the focus we have on tackling hate related incidents and crime in our neighbourhoods.
This policy shows our commitment to the Regulator of Social Housing’s Neighbourhood and Community Standard, which states that “Registered providers must work in partnership with appropriate local authority departments, the police and other relevant organisations to deter and tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) and hate incidents in the neighbourhoods where they provide social housing.”
This policy sets out Settle’s responsibilities in addressing Hate Crime to ensure all colleagues are clear on our obligations and our approach.
To make sure the policy promotes safety, fairness, and consistency, we'd love to hear from you!
Your feedback will help shape how we continue to support residents, which is why we're inviting you to take our simple survey that should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

A note from Asha Pomroy, Neighbourhood Coach
"We take all reports of hate crime seriously and are committed to providing a safe, supportive space where residents feel heard and supported. To strengthen this commitment, we've introduced a new policy that sets out how we will address hate crime and hate related incidents in our communities.
We want to make sure this policy is clear, easy to understand, and effective so we’re inviting feedback from residents. We would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you for taking the time to share your views with us."
