Thank you for the feedback we received on our Asbestos Policy! We're pleased to share that we received a total of 42 comments from 10 survey responses. Your contributions are essential to improving this policy, and we're currently reviewing your suggestions.
📢Here's what we heard:
53% of residents thought the language in the policy was clear
52% of residents thought the policy was easy to understand.
There were three core themes raised by residents around our Asbestos Policy:
Residents would value a clearer explanation of the technical terms and acronyms
Residents would like clearer communication about how asbestos risks are managed by Settle
Residents would appreciate a quicker response time for asbestos related inspections.
We're now reviewing all feedback and revising the policy based on your input. We will publish the updated version reflecting your thoughts soon.
We want to make sure this policy truly reflects residents' priorities.

Settle is responsible for the maintenance and repairs of the properties we own, many of which will have been constructed using asbestos containing materials. As such, we have a legal 'duty to manage' asbestos in these buildings.
Homes or buildings built or refurbished before the year 2000 may contain asbestos, as its use in construction was not outlawed until late 1999. If an asbestos containing material is disturbed or damaged it can release asbestos fibres into the air which are a danger to health if inhaled.
To make sure the policy promotes safety, transparency, and consistency, we'd love to hear from you!
