Water Hygiene Policy Review

At Settle, our priority is to ensure that residents are safe in the homes, communal blocks and other properties that we own and manage.

Thank you for the feedback we received on our Water Hygiene Policy! We're pleased to share that we received a total of 23 comments from 8 survey responses. Your contributions are essential to improving this policy, and we're currently reviewing your suggestions.

📢 Here's what we heard:

  • 85% of residents thought the language in the policy was clear
  • 83% of residents thought the policy was easy to understand.

There were three core themes raised by residents around our Water Hygiene Policy:

  1. Residents would value a clearer explanation of the technical terms and acronyms
  2. Residents would appreciate more consistency in the policy
  3. Residents would like a clearer understanding of what is considered low, medium, and high risk and suggested using a diagram to help explain it.

We're now reviewing all feedback and revising the policy based on your input. We will publish the updated version reflecting your thoughts soon.

We want to make sure this policy truly reflects residents' priorities.

We must meet the legal obligations which require us to deal with the risks associated with legionella bacteria within the properties we own or manage. People contract Legionnaires' disease by inhaling small droplets of water containing legionella bacteria.

As far as is reasonably practicable, we must use measures to reduce and/or control exposure to legionella bacteria, including managing the conditions that support the growth of the bacteria in water systems.

To make sure the policy promotes safety, transparency, empathy and consistency, we'd love to hear from you!
