The Aids and adaptations policy review is now closed. Thank you to everyone who shared their views.

In August 2026 we reached out to residents to take part in the review of Lifestone’s (formerly SettleParadigm) Aids & Adaptations policy. We received a significant amount of feedback and we've used this feedback to make improvements to the policy, guidance documents and website.

You can explore the impact that resident voice has made on the Aids & Adaptations policy below.

You said

You wanted the adaptations process to be easier to understand, with clearer information about the help available, costs, who does what, how decisions are made and what happens if your application is declined.

Our response

We understand that clear, accessible information can make the adaptations process easier to navigate and give you greater confidence about what happens next.

The policy explains how we consider your individual needs, explain our decisions in writing and offer support if your application is declined. It also explains how you can appeal. We have added timescales to acknowledge your appeal within five working days and respond within 20 working days.

What’s next

We will update our resident guidance and website to explain the practical steps more clearly, including examples of adaptations, funding, who is responsible for what, temporary moves, repairs and aftercare. We will direct you to this information at relevant stages to help you feel informed and supported throughout the process.
